The Open Science Initiative University of Marburg (OSIUM) is an open and voluntary group of scientists and non-scientists from all career stages and disciplines. We are a vibrant community that welcomes all interested people!


Why should I become an active OSIUM member?

By becoming an active member, you join a community committed to making research more open, transparent, and inclusive. You’ll have the chance to collaborate on exciting projects, promote open science in Marburg and beyond and organize community events such as peer2peer workshops, hackathons or retreats. Whether you’re a student, researcher, or simply passionate about science, your voice and ideas matter. Together, we can build a more accessible and impactful scientific landscape for everyone.

Who Can Take Part in the OSIUM Community?

Every researcher and non-researcher from the Philipps-University Marburg and beyond can attend and participate in our events, no matter from which domain or at which career level. To get notified of our activities, you can subscribe to our newsletter

How to Become an Official Member of OSIUM?

To become an OSIUM member, just join the group on discord! This is our main communication platform. If something doesn’t work, please don’t hesitate to drop us a mail. ! Please note further information about our team communication in the corresponding discord channel descriptions !

By becoming an active member, you express that you actively support OSIUM’s mission. Beyond this, we encourage you to become an ‘ambassador’ of open research practices in whatever capacity you find suitable, e.g., contribute in delivering training events, hackathons or retreats, contribute in community building or get involved in other current activities of OSIUM.
